Is traditional education limits our creativity

There is a wide spread opinion, being agreed with many Chinese, that Chinese traditional education discourages children to think different and limits children’s creativity.

In my opinion, education should be to blame. However, is education the root of all problems? Negative is the answer. Chinese education makes emphasis on solving problems. But creativity is also necessary to find a solution. What is education the scapegoat of? Thinking pattern is my answer.

OEM is taken for granted, even though it consumes most of our resources while profits less. The cost of plagiarism is too low owing to insufficient legal regulation. Bosses are accustomed to follow others ideas and never want to create ideas.

We should skip out the “box” of our current thinking pattern. Education is not the root of all evils. Waiting for your opinions.

I would say yes. Chinese traditional education just ask the students to imitate and repeat. The kids are losing their portential abilities to create and to solve problems.

Actually our ancestors gave us the clue of creative thinking, such as Laozi, Zhuangzi, looking something outside the line. Useless could be useful, soft could be tough, strength may lead to weakness.
It is always much easier to look things from the surface, and share the view for what it looks like, but what about if it is not? Education is to teach fishing but not only fish, this maybe a global task for everyone.

It is hard to say that one single elememt limits our compence of creativity. However, our traditional education system does affect our creativity somehow. Personally, I may appreciate our middle school and high school education which lays a solid foundation for all of us. However, studying only for high mark in College Entrance Examination also eliminates our connections with the real world. We do not really understand the practical use of the knowledge we learnd from the classroom. When we select our majors in the unversities, we simply follow the instructions from our partents, teachers or even some so called friends but strangers for us. Carrer prospects seems to be the main or only evaluation dimension rather than our own interests. Actually, we do not even know these majors at all, so how can we make a good choice. Unfortunately, most of people realize that he or she does not have any interest in major selected after 2 or 3 years' university study. We always say that interest is the best teacher. Whereas, how can we be creative without this teacher.
