Fast Is Best or Think Before Act

Post by yifengx on Sat Oct 12, 2013 6:58 pm

After reading last two cases, Jimmy Lai radically lauched adm@rt without an adequate preparation, but Hong Kong Jockey Club lauched ibu Experiece Zone after detailed marketing reaserch and longtime development. Jimmy Lai wanted to change the market, but Hong Kong Jockey Club only wanted to improve the customer experience of a group of customers.

What is your opinion about this two different kinds of actions?

It really needs to balance, but generally I would prefer to think before act. Before we take any action, we shall spend some time to understand the situtation. we are not supposed to rely totally on system1(emotional/intituion), we need to use system 2(rational) to analyze from both "yellow" and""black ""sides, after that when you decide to take actions, it will make your action more convincing to either employees or your partners hence you are more likely to be sucessfull. As Jimmy Lai himself said he failed is becasue he was too crazy about the EC idea that he forgot all the principles of business. We shall learn from the lesson.

It depends...
Sometimes fast thinking and action is good, and sometimes think before doing is better...
